The Tech Center Ski Club was established in 1957 by a group of single skiers at the GM Tech center in Michigan.  The club took it's first trip together in 1959 to Northern Michigan Caberfae ski area.  The club ventured out of Michigan in 1962 to Collingwood Ontario for a weekend.  Various non-ski social events brought the group together during the off-ski season.

Over the years the club expanded outside of GM and moved away from a singles club.  Weekend trips continues throughout the 70's.  In 1975 the club took its first week-long trip Banff in western Canada.  From that time on the club took an annual week-long western trip to a major resort.  The trips in the 70's included Steamboat Springs, Aspen & Vail.

During the 80's membership was as high as 200 skiers. The weekend trips were to Traverse City, Indianhead, Blue Mountain and Holiday Valley.  The week-long trips included Breckenridge, Banff, Whistler, Vail, Jackson Hole, Steamboat Springs, Sun Valley, Snowmass, Park City and Lake Tahoe.

In the 90's the club continued weekend trips in Michigan and  Ontario.  We also traveled to western US and Canada.  Trips included Telludride, Steamboat Springs, Lake Louise, Snowmass, Crested Bute, Jackson Hole and Whistler-Blackcomb

The new millennium started with a trip to Big Sky, Montana where we skied in the sunshine.  In 2001 the club made its first trip to anew ski area in Western Canada called Sun Peaks.  In 2002 we returned to Telludride.  In 2003 we returned to Sun Valley Idaho. In 2004 we went to Northstar in North Lake Tahoe.  In 2005  we returned to Park City Utah where we skied on the 2002 Olympic sites. 2006 found us back to Colorado to ski the four mountains of Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen and Aspen Highlands. The 06-07 season promises to be another successful year, with a planned trip to Breckenridge, CO.
